WHY AUSTPATH?
Minimally Invasive Precision
Austpath uses Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) to assess biopsy samples immediately at the bedside. This ensures adequate sampling in a single pass, often eliminating the need for repeat procedures. The approach reduces patient discomfort and allows for swift provisional diagnoses, enabling faster and more accurate clinical decision-making.
With ROSE, if there is sufficient tissue on the first pass, there is typically no need for a repeat biopsy. Without ROSE, typically three passes are made.
ROSE enables us to take additional samples immediately. For example, if TB is suspected, a second sample is taken immediately for culture and PCR. If the provisional diagnosis is cancer a core biopsy is taken to categorize the cancer.
ROSE at Austpath streamlines biopsy procedures by confirming sample adequacy in real time, reducing repeat biopsies and facilitating prompt, precise diagnoses.
