Diagnostic Laboratory
The diagnostic laboratory focuses on Fine Needle Aspiration, Cytology and Histopathology. Histopathology is a vast field and we specialize in providing a service to Gastroenterologists. Head and Neck Surgeons, Plastic surgeons and ENT surgeons.
Research Laboratory
Our research laboratory aims to understand the concepts and mechanisms which underlie diseases in our chosen fields and to develop processes to streamline and make efficient our laboratory processes.
Austpath was established in 1995 to provide a specialized fine needle aspiration cytology service to surgeons and physicians.
Histopathology was added in 1996.
We moved to our current location at 197 Briens Road in April 2014.
The original building was constructed in the 1950s as a warehouse with a distinctive sawtooth roof. This has been completely renovated; however, the original character of the warehouse, including the sawtooth roof, has been carefully preserved.
Parking
Car park is at a premium in the Westmead Medical precinct. One of the attractive feature of our new location is that it provides ample of parking for patients and staff.
